Financial Information
Viola players typically rent their first instrument, and it is slightly more than the violin to rent. Like Violins, Violas come in different sizes based on the size of the student. By high school, most students will have "graduated" to a standard Viola. The Music Shoppe, our local music supplier, has a rental program that allows students to upgrade when ready and to apply the rental toward the purchase of a new or used instrument when the time comes. Viola students must take great care in using their bows and their strings, as these parts are very delicate. Strings must be replaced occasionally and bows require occasional maintenance. Viola students will also need to purchase rosin and method books designated by the instructor.
